Central Ohio welcomed my family with open arms in 1978 and we’ve worked together ever since supporting the Zoo’s mission and growth. I couldn’t be more proud to have spent my career at the Columbus Zoo – I’ve learned so much through my experiences, vialis 40mg mentors, and the community. Today the Columbus Zoo family is made up of more than just the Zoo – we’re a weekend destination including the Wilds, the Zoombezi Bay waterpark, and the Safari Golf Club.
In 1964, I ventured to Muskingum College in Ohio to play football…with my donkey and a few other critters in tow! I met my wife of 45 years, Suzi, while at Muskingum and we married in 1968. Had you told me back then that I would be returning to our old stomping grounds to observe amazing animals and host researchers from around the world – I would have told you that you were crazy!
Today, one of our favorite things to do is visit the Wilds and see its miraculous transformation over the last 40 years. From the barren, strip-mined land to the beautiful savannah that it is today – the work being done at the Wilds is like nowhere else in the world. Anyone can come to the Wilds and ride across the landscape in an open-air bus and see some of the rarest animals in the world. I couldn’t be more proud that is has become part of the Columbus Zoo family!
For years Sue and I have traveled the world to bring animals stories to the living rooms’ of fellow adventure and animal lovers. We’re excited to have two shows airing around the country right now – Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild and Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown. Thanks to our partners at Nationwide and our Columbus Zoo family for making these shows possible!
I’ve been partnering with Nationwide since I came to Columbus, OH in 1978 – our first collaboration was renovating the Columbus Zoo’s Bald Eagle habitat. Today, Nationwide generously supports both of my TV shows, Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild and Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown, along with the Columbus Zoo. They also present my speaking tour, Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild LIVE!
