A baby orangutan plays on a “jungle gym” at Sepilok, learning how to cope with life in the treetops!

Proboscis Monkey, Malaysia

A mother proboscis monkey quickly eats, clutching her baby. These monkeys spend the day in the forest, then sleep in trees overlooking the river at night.

 

Pygmy Elephant, Malaysia

Most Pygmy Elephants live in Sabah, Malaysia—there are an estimated 1500 or less in the world. Adults reach about 8 feet, a little smaller than their Asian Elephant counterparts.

 

Crocodile, Malaysia

A voracious predator, the crocodile has a bite force of 5,000 pounds per square inch! Sizes range from the dwarf croc (a little over 3 feet) to the giant saltwater crocodiles which have been reported up to 20 feet in length.

 

Orangutan, Malaysia

Orangutans spend most of their lives in the trees and delight when the smelly durian fruit ripens!
